[8D]Trying to find a reasonable price for 100/100 (95") build.Have Rinehart Duals,Sert,Terry T2,Big Sucker Ac.Looking for a matched kit for a good price.Do not have Experiance to do myself so will need it installed.Called R&R their 100/100 is over 3000 grand and Gmr 98 is around2800 or so.Just looking for some advice from people who have done a 95" kit and are you happy with the build...and if you can give me advice on parts that work or who to go to it would be appreciated ..............Thanks
The 100/100 kit is not hard to get to with a 95 but the question is what is the budget?? From there you can work backwards. You do not have the best pipes for your goal they will do it but are going to dump the tq in the low rpm range.
I would use a woods 6 cam, Set compression in the 10.2 range and you will be there.
Money wise wouls break down like this
Bore cylinders 150
Pistons h/c 150
Top end kit89
heads 700
woods chain cam265
push rods covers 167
--------
1521
Now this would be using a set of SE perf heads cleaned up, a chian drive cam, WE have done this build and it will make the 100/100 mark. Now that is a low price kit to make that power. That is using cast pistons, chain drive cam to keep cost down
Thanks Steve,Talked to you a wile back didnt have a direction at the time..now looking at all builds i can find.Talked to R&R and also to Wes at cyclerama 4500 installed seems a bit steep....but then that is compete turnkey..so I guess i'm looking for a less expensive build that will give the same results..is it out there ? I hope ,only time will tell.I am concerned with higher CR's past 9.8 fuel at best is crappy and I need the reliability cause Mom wont let me do it two times.
So now more questions come up.After having a geat conversation with Phil m I would like to know who has a 10.5.1 CR on a 95" or 98" and has lots of miles on that build. It kinda scares me but because I'm no engine xpert just dont know, would hate to do this and 10,000 miles later need to rebuild......again thanks for any imput.
