If oil is returning to the oil tank and after the tank is hot from riding 1/2 hour your good
Harley is like a lathe cutting steel just enough FLOW to keep it from seizing is all they have and NEED
its the same switch on the knuckle and they are 3 pounds

What is it doing if it comes on when idling - you can undo the top and bottom and it could have a screen and or a spring in the center just remove it and see what happens then

Been through removing the screen, checked all wiring, and tested the switch.
light just never goes off, doesnt flicker just stays on.

The wire to the switch is the ground so if any place its touching any metal -will put the light on — to test the switch at the pump put one end of a test light on the positive battery cable and the other on the place the wire goes wont the wire off - if it lights when running then the switch is bad
if not you have a ground happening to the switch wire
