Default What an Improvement....

New tire and balance was apparently the ticket. Trust me it sill handles like a three wheel dump truck, but it is not all over the road, and the handle bars don't jump out of your hands on every bump. On to the next 40 things on the list, IE running fat on the Mikuni 34, maybe trying an early Linkert that came with the sale of the bike, fork oil change, clutch adjustment, sealing the gas tank, so on and so forth, but I am really enjoying process and will be checking in here a lot.......

Nice score.

I’m fascinated by these things, especially the later ones, and just how long the 45 soldiered on well into the AMF-era.

Default Hit the Road

Well I had been putting around my neighborhood testing my Mikuni carb adjustments on my not yet legal 1969 Virginia tag I will be registering the Servi under shortly. I pulled up to the main road boarding our subdivision and thought now is as good a time as any, so off we went. I was impressed, the Old Girl went through the gears like butter and was fairly smooth at the astounding speeds of 45, and yes I think I may have hit 50 at one point. It has found a home where a long trip will be a run over town to get a soft serve ice cream cone or a five mile round trip to the hardware store. I really have no idea why this "Ugly Duckling" has such appeal to me, I paid way too much for it, it will never be a speed demon, parts are not on every shelve and certainly not cheap, and operating the machine is not for the faint of heart, but damn is it fun........
