Honestly...early on, I did as well. Then he went from 0-100MPH hostile with me as well. Scary case of target fixation, that's for sure.

I tried to chill out Crazy Joe. But he kept beating the dead horse.

l like to stay on Izzo’s good side. He walks softly but carries a big stick.

That one was a shame. Betrefan was just looking for some insights from HDF members. We're a pretty knowledgeable group, and I often ask here 1st to get responses from like minded individuals. And yeah....I get it. Safari hunting is a dirty word to some. I honestly don't know enough about it to criticize. But even if you don't like something, you can offer up a respectful opinion, like some of you here did.

As far as my thread, it had pretty much run it's course anyway. Did I like getting attacked by Joe? Not at all. And I tried my best to keep my promise to not engage him. But when he tried dragging my name through the mud about stuff from other forums, I had to respond. And I tried my best to keep that response civil. Now it appears he has been banned. I'm 100% sure he feels I arranged that somehow. I only wish I had that kind of pull.

As far as going to Mods - After 6 crazy PMs from another notorious HDF member (not Joe) because the "biker" thread got shut down (apparently I'm responsible for that one too), I finally started reporting them. I gave him fair warning and told him if he didn't knock it off, I would report it. And he just kept going. 11 in total. I basically took the advice of a well known friend here and just stopped responding and started reporting. It was basically a self preservation move. I didn't want to get drawn in to something that could get me banned. I like it here.

To wit - the silver lining is that many friends have backed me up and I'll never forget that. Yeah, I know this is just stupid internet drama, but at a certain point a guy has to look at himself and say "Is it me? Am I the bad guy here?". So hearing from a bunch of you in PMs, and seeing the responses on the threads meant a lot. I thank you all for that.

I do not know where he is. Is there something new I'm not aware of?

Apparently so. He's been banned for 7 days. If he doesn't repent and change his ways, that will be permanent.

Got it...now...just so ya know, the last info we had from you was at about 9:45 AM, you indicated that someone had gotten banned, no names mentioned, and I posted about 45 minutes after that. Honestly, I didn't go back and look at Joe Mc's posts, up until that time, I had no idea that you had banned him.

No, sir, thank you, I'll let it stand. When I posted earlier, I did so based upon what I knew. But now that you have made it right, I will thank you, and I hope this individual will change his ways when he returns.

What are the admins/mods thoughts on just deleting offending posts in threads instead of locking them down? If someone persists after their posts were deleted...they get a "vacation". I'm sure it's extra work for you guys though.

...and I'm not without fault here myself, I've had my battles on this board that's for sure.

It's all stage-diving. If you're good, you get caught and body-surf the room.
If you're not, you go splat.
