Can someone tell me what the maximum baffle size is for a set of Rush Big Louie 4" slip-ons if no other intake or fuel management parts are installed. My wife just wants more sound, not more performance, so she doesn't want to spend the bucks for a stage one.
I think I read somewhere that anything 2 inches or less will give you the proper amount of backpressure.
Depends on the year and if it has a catalytic converter in the head pipe. If it does not, you should be able to use the 2.00". You are correct that the 2.00" or smaller provides proper back pressure. I can't guarantee it won't require tuning but it should be fine. If you use a larger baffle or upgrade the intake it will require tuning. If it's a new bike with a catalytic converter we recommend the 3.00" baffle and no tuning. Thanks for considering Rush!

Can the baffles be changed out if one decides to do a complete Stage 1 at a later date?

Yes. Easy to change. I've done it, and I'm no mechanic. Just loosen screws, and pull 'em out. The diameter (2.0, 2.25, 2.5, etc) is the inside of the baffle. The outside diameter is (I'm sure) the same on all of them, so they fit into the pipes.

I should add that my 07 pipes are not the BIG Louie pipes... I only have One of my Sons friends that have them and I don't know what Baffle he went with...????
my 07 Pipes are different than the B-Lou'es and had the options of 1 1/2'' to 2 1/2'' baffles on them..
Back in 07 the 2'' baffles was what most went with on Pipes ONLY addition and I did the 2''ers because I knew I was Soon to be adding Cams....
Later in 09 or 10 a Rush TECH told me they have since only recommend the 1 3/4'' on the older style pipes on a Pipe only mod to the 96''er to help Keep the Low end TQ..
NOW the Big Louie's pipes are a different story and I'd listen to what the Rush Tech (Ryan) above as I've talked to him several times and he's Helped me when I needed help..
I'll add at this Time... You won't find any company that will work or Help you on any problem you have AFTER you buy their Product than Rush will... Period...
I'll only add that I had the VERY 1st set of Rush muffs installed on my bike back in 07 by 96'th street Indy North in INDY......and their were the 1st time they'd done a dyno tune with them....
I still have them on my bike almost 8 yrs and 51k miles later and they still look new..
The slip ons will not give you the gains of the complete system or of a 2-1 system but they will give you an improvement over stock pipe and I'll guarantee you'll LOVE the sound of them.......
