Back Patch Question?
Respect has to be earned and it is earned individually in my opinion. There are azzholes in every group of people and wearing colors does not exempt one from that. Too much respect is indicated on this forum for so-called 1% clubs. My respect for groups goes to the Marines and Airborne.
The Hells Angels with Sonny Barger was a long time ago. Most of these clubs are only shadows of what they used to think they were. Law enforcement agencies have them keeping a very low profile. The people that I know are not going to bring down the law on themselves by roughing up some citizen for wearing a vest that does not reflect on them.

People, do not listen to this kind of stuff, or the ones with the attitude that they will do what they want.
To say that your .45 will take care of you when it comes to a MC is asking to have it taken away from you and shoved where the sun don't shine. To say that Sonny Barger and his people are shadows is a nieve statement.
It was only last year that the HA and Outlaws got into a killing match at a campground in Sturgis. It was 2000 that the HA and the Mongols turned Harrah's in Laughlin into a bloodbath.
All of this was over territory. Translate this into who can wear what colors and where.
Ifyou on this forum choose to listen to advise from keyboard commandos that probably have very little real knowledge of what is going on then you are truly asking for some serious trouble.
As someone has already said. This is a free country and you can do what you want, but just be sure you understand what that exercise of freedom might cost you.
Regards,
Bill

The two incidents that you mention were between two clubs and not involving outsiders. Tell me about any recent incidents that involve a club attacking non-patch holders. Does not happen around where I am and one of the more infamous clubs has a large but seldom recognized membership here. Twenty years ago, more or less, bikers wearing colors were highly visible every day. Now they rarely wear colors except for special occasions such as a member's funereal. Law enforcement has cracked down and claims of harassment brings no sympathy from the public. Everyone is not equal in the USA.

especially this part.
A guy posted trying to get somesane information about what was and wasn't dangerous to do. For those that told him to do what he wanted, they were giving advise based on lack of knowledge or a bravado bolstered by the protection of their monitor.
As far as incidents with civilians, you don't here about many because they do not make national news if an incident happens, and also because most people have enough sense to not mess with MC's or provoke them by becoming a rival or preceived rival ie. wearing colors in their territory.
I personally don't care for what they do, and I don't like the fact that they tend to dictate what happens in certain instances involving motorcycling, but because I don't like it doesn't mean that I go out of my way to try and prove something to them. These are damned dangerous people and to advise someone to take them lightly is foolish advise.
