Pretty common occurrence around here. My boys were up late summer for a "guys only" weekend. Joe was damn near knocked down as one big guy swooped in for a fish he had just caught and was thrashing around on the surface. He continued to shadow us hoping for some easy pickings. As we drifted along the shoreline he'd move to another vantage point.
Hey Hraefn next time you get out go east. Stop at Chesapeake HD and then wind down to the fishing area on the south side of the Conowingo dam, Baldies all over. then ride over the dam hook a right on 222 and stop off at the Union Tavern for a beef sandwich and a brew. Nice ride and great stops.
I'm in eastern Ohio on the Pennsylvania, West Virginia border. There are several nesting pairs along the Ohio river down river from me. We did work on the W.Va. side of the river. On lunch break we'd go to the boat livery and watch them fish. It's awesome! One guy I work with had a pair nesting in his back yard for a few months about 4 years ago. Beautiful creatures.

Danny, do you ever ride in the Keystone Lake area? Over the years I have see quite a few there.
Hey Mike! Yeah, I get out there all the time. I know they have tours for Eagle watching, just never saw any at other times in that area. I've been seeing them along the Arkansas River over by Jenks, and saw one along I-44 North of Claremore once.
We have 2 nesting pairs in our area the Feds put out 4-5 years ago. Pretty much secret as far as location. Was lucky enough to be working the area for a while last year, spotted the nest (huge), and got to watch them raise a little one. Awesome sight.
