Can the rear wheel belt pulley (not currently chrome) be taken off and chromed without affecting the "grip" between the belt and the pulley?
I am worried the "extra" layer of chrome would make the teeth on the pulley a bit larger and therefore not the same grip. Has anyone successfully done this?
I've seen them chromed but they could have been chrome covers. I've seen them hanging on an indies shop. Personally, if I was going to go that route, I'd get a cover.
Thanks for the input. I have purchased a HD Reaper Rear Wheel off ebay and will need to chrome the rear pulley. I currently have the standard fatboy wheel with a chrome cover over the rear pulley. When I put the new Reaper Wheel on, the old pulley (back) will show its dull side. I could purchase a new pulley to match at about $399 but I will check the local chrome shop and see what they charge to chrome this item.
