Long story short, my 14'' apes cracked at the knurl on the left side. No accident, nor was the bike dropped. I called said company and sent pictures. He will be sending me a new one, and I just have to mail the old ones back. I asked him about installation. I do feel that they are responsible, or at least pay part. I don't even want to think what would happen if the bar had cracked all the way through while on the interstate, or going through a curve. The company has been helpful so far, but I am still waiting to hear back concerning the installation price. Is it unreasonable for me to expect this from them? Even if they agreed to covering half the cost I would be happy. Not going to name the company because they have been helpful so far.

Personally, if the bars cracked purely from a factory defect, I'd expect them to cover the new installation period. You're having to have bars installed, again, directly in correlation to your current bars cracking by no doing of you. Seems fair to me.
It doesn't hurt to ask but personally, I can see them exchanging the defective ape for a new one but holding them responsible for installation, unless they were the ones that installed the apes in the first place, I don't really see how they could be held accountable for that too but that's just me.

My take.
The folks that made the bars are not responsible with the install unless they installed them.
They have no idea what anyone will do with their product once it's in the hands of the buyer. You could hang them on the wall or bolt them to the hood of your truck,, doesn't matter.

So, the company has done an about face. Now I'm being accused of installation wrong. They said "we have run forklifts over our bikes and nothing has happened ". Send in the bars and they will check that it is not counterfeit, and then either reimburse me or send new ones. I'm getting 12.5 HD apes. Will sell the replacement bars when I get them
And it is Wild 1s. Just accept you had a faulty product
