Just wondering if any of you have boughten the Harley Davidson Maintenance Coverage Plan only to have the HD Dealership say they will not accept it anymore because they have to much of a hassle getting their money after they perform the service? I took my CVO Deluxe today for the 5,000 mile service and the HD Dealership wouldn't accept it any longer. Instead, they instructed me to pay for the service and then try to ask for the reimbusement myself. This is the same HD Dealership that accepted my Planned Mainenance Coverage Service when they did the 1,000 mile service this past September of 2014. This time they would not accept it since it was too much of a hassle for them to get paid by the HD Maintenance Coverage Plan. I will therefore ask to get reimbursed since I paid for the Coverage already or I will cancel the Agreement. Your thoughts?
By the way, I bought the CVO in July of 2014 along with the Planned Maintenace Coverage.

Contact Harley. If word got out that dealers weren't, and got away with it, honoring contracts it wouldn't bode well for selling the plans anymore.
I could see this happening if it was a plan backed by a third party. But if it's a plan backed by Harley Davidson, it doesn't make sense that the dealer would have issues getting compensated, unless that dealer was having cash flow problems and owe the MOCO a pile of money and aren't paying. We'd do that to our dealers who don't pay their invoices, they get put on a credit watch/hold. Not saying that is the case here, but it doesn't make sense that the mother ship would drag it's heels on something like this. Must be more to the story somewhere. If it is a HD plan any other dealer should be able to service your bike, if any are near you.
I was pretty sure that the maintenance plan is not like a warranty plan. The dealer who you buy it through, keeps that money and its really a way to lock in you bringing the bike to them and hoping you don't do all the services in the 3 year window cause then they keep the money.

What you are saying makes sense, but, why should the customers who purchased the Maintenance Service Plan be the ones to get the short stick? I even financed through Eagle Mark Savings Bank, which I understand is a primary HD lender bank. Plus, I don't think this service plan is backed by a third party. I will find out more when I contact Harley on Tuesday.

Yes, this agreement is not a warranty or insurance contract. But the scope of the coverage does include Harley-Davidson Dealerships that are factory certified to service HD vehicles under HD Planned Maintenance. This dealership had already performed the 1,000 mile service on my CVO before.

By law, a contract is a contract. If they no longer wanted to honor the contract(s) they endorsed, they would have to stop writing them beforehand and will have to honor all previous agreements or they'll end up getting their tit in a wringer in court.
