I have an '08 Heritage with 54,000 miles. I replaced the stock junk piece of **** compensator with a Screaming Eagle one at around 10,000 miles because of the regular BS of knocking/noise/vibration. It's been making noise and knocking and vibrating again for awhile now so, I'm looking at replacing it with the newest version with the glue in plastic oil channel that is supposed to be the fix all. Anyone have experience with this newest version?
Why would anyone think it was a good idea to be gluing plastic pieces inside your primary?....Buy the Baker and forget about Harley's pitiful attempt to fix something they have screwed up from the beginning.
If your starter pinion "bangs" or hits hard whenever you hit that starter button, then you've got a compensator problem.
07's and 08's are famous for it.
You listen when people start their bikes and you can hear the difference as soon as they touch the starter button.

As suggested above, I went with the new Baker kit. They're designed to scoop the oil into the comp area without the need of any glued-on plastic pieces.
