I done stage 1 on my ultra limited this spring and went with the jackpot headers. I saw a post on here where Jamie of fuel moto said that the outside diameter of this header was the same size of the outside diameter of the factory exhaust gaskets. This was the first time I had replaced headers on a bike and Jamie said they would work with factory gaskets. They just mash up into the gaskets being that they are the same size. So if you use factory gaskets you can forget about torqueing the flanges back down to specs. had I known this ahead of time I would have used the gaskets that fits the header so I could have got my torque specs. But all in all I like the headers. Hope this helps some one if they are thinking about using the jack pot headers. CHANGE THE GASKETS!

 

So if stock gaskets are an issue to you, what gaskets do you recommend? I used factory gaskets, not screamin' eagle gaskets in 2011 when I did mine.

 

Stock exhaust gaskets are metal "crush" gaskets and must be replaced vs. reused...did you replace yours when installing this new header? If so, they'll collapse as you torque the flange bolts down.

 

I run the jackpot 2/1/2 header with the factory gaskets and the factory torque, no problemos.

 

There are two types of exhaust gaskets - tapered and non-tampered - make sure you are using the correct ones for your pipes....
Secondly, the fit trying to get the gaskets into your heads is a tight fit - make sure to take your time as not to pinch them....

 

fuel moto offers a gasket for the header. I got mine sealed up against the stock gaskets. The jack pot headers are not tapered like the factory headers. The gasket from fuel moto has a shoulder on it that sets against pipe and head.

 

My 2011 has had the FM catless pipe on for 26,000 miles with the original factory gaskets.

 

Good to know Fuel Moto has their own gaskets now. They either did not offer them when I got my stainless 2-1-2 ceramic coated or had not started producing them. At that time they advised to use the stock H-D, not screamin' eagle gaskets. Good to know, that when they come off I will try their gaskets. 58k on current headers and gasket.

 

Between OEM gaskets and Jackpots, I would use whichever ones cost less... as they both accomplish the same thing!

 

For the minimal cost of gaskets why would you NOT replace them? Cheap insurance
