Live to Trailer, Trailer to Live,,,,, yeah baby! I am all for riding mine whereever I go. I understand why people trailer though. To each his own, no one really cares.

I do think it is funny how we bikers don't want people judging us because who we are, yet we do plenty of judging of others.

I am glad we bought a trailer.....I hate putting all these miles on the bike...soon it will have too many miles on to turn a profit if I decide to sell it[:@]

I've hit the road with buddies of mine and rode for a little over 1200 miles in a few days. No particular destination in mind, just riding and catching a hotel where we could. Now, Kathy loves riding as much as I do, but if we're heading out to the Hill Country for 2 or 3 days, I'll trailer the bikes because of her. I have no problem with those who trailer for whatever reason. It ain't none of my business.

If it weren't for people trailering to Daytona Bike Week and Biketoberfest I'd never be able to pay for the 42' gooseneck I bought just for that purpose! It's 1000 miles each way and very cold in March.

I know, I know - the adventure of the road, high-tales of the highway and all of that; we do road trips and ride rain or shine. We enjoy it and have the stories to tell. I ride to Myrtle Beach and Laconia - it's enjoyable and certainly part of the experience. But for Daytona, it's good to brings lots of stuff. Couple guys in my group bring guitars. We brings extra gear and stuff we need or think we may need. No shame in trailering. It's a party and I'm there on vacation for cryin' out loud.

This year, we're goign to our hang-out on Saturday, parking the trailer and riding to the Keys for a couple three or four days, staying in Key West, then returning to Daytona for Biketoberfest. We get our riding in. Did 800 miles during Bike Week and never really went anywhere far unless you call Ocala or St. Augustine far.

Ride, trailer, whatever, WTF, just do it!

Just got back from Laughlin. I couldn't believe how many people trailer their bikes from L.A. It's only 300 miles and the weather is perfect. I just don't get it.
Coming from someone with a windshield and saddlebags, guess I can see why you don't get it. I'd love to have a RK and make those rides. However, I chose to go with a different style that will never include saddlebags, cushy seat or a windshield. So 300 miles at 75 on a badlander seat, nowhere to carry gear, and 75 mph wind pushing me back off the bars is a bit much. What I don't get is why that's so hard to understand.
Sounds like you are in need of a more comfortable bike. Don't take it out on me. I could ride your bike cross country. That's the point here. I chose to be more comfortable.

If I had a bagger I'd ride to a rally 500 miles away. But going 500 miles with the wife and no place to put any luggage for a 6 day trip on a Street Bob is just not going to happen. With that said I will be trailering to Myrtle Beach in couple of weeks. I don't give a F*ck what anybody thinks about it. It's my bike and it's my decision how I get there. If somebody has that big a problem with let me know, we can always go about back and discuss it like men.[:@]
It was 300 miles and perfect conditions. If you can't handle that, I know a great Honda dealer.

P.S. If we go out back, are you armed? If not, watch what you're asking for tough guy.

If ya want to trailer- Have at it. I personally don't get it but that is your choice.

BUT-
I am out of the norm as far as HD riders go. I do not go to rallies, if the road is long and streight I look for the twistier version, I actually enjoy riding in the rain.

I went across the country (well, from NJ to South Dakota in 2003) on a Kawasaki ZRX1200 and with the corbin seat on it I felt fine.

For me, if it requires a trailer I don't go. Not saying that to be bad ***. I am saying that because I LOATHE being in a car for more than 2 hours. I will ride an 883 to california before I sat in a cage for that long.

If there was an event that I wanted to attend I could see flying in and possibly renting a bike but I will never go through the trouble of loading it on a trailer.

Again- Personal Preference. You paid for your bike. Enjoy it how you want to. Period.

The only reason I would consider trailering is if I lived up North, and weather was an issue.

well, I reckon I would prefer a trailer queen to a drag queen, as I've seen some pretty good lookin ladies from trailer parks. I always wondered how those good lookin ladies came to be in a trailer park. I think I might write a song about it.

Would now be a bad time to mention that I tow my 2 bike Kendon trailer with my 35 ft Class A motorhome?

I love to ride - anywhere, anytime, but if the wife and dogs are coming along it ain't happening without the RV and a trailer.Besides, who wants to be cold or soaking wet and miserable for a week when they don't have to be?But most importantly I can bring all the food, booze, and beer I care toconsume with me so I don't have to pay the outrageous prices that locals charge when the rally is in town.

FWIW, last year the wife drove the RV to Sturgiswhile me and a few others rode - the first night out we slept in a tent on the ground somewhere in Wyoming and she slept in an air conditioned RV with all the trimmings somewhere in Colorado. Gee, who got the better end of that deal I wonder?
