I don't care what people do. I agree that it's their own business. That doesn't change the fact that I feel it's a little bit silly to trailer a bike to an event. If it's too far, too cold, the wrong bike or whatever the reason is that it wouldn't work to ride the bike there, park the damn thing and drive your car. Who says you have to ride in circles on your motorcycle after you get there. Chit, pack your camping gear, load the car up and go enjoy the event. Does that make you less of a motorcyclist????

Jezz, from a "observation" we are down to name calling, challenges to meet out back, etc.. There are reasons peopletrail, just like reasons people ride. When I ride solo, I ride. When my love of my life is with me for a trip, I trail for her physical needs. She rides when we get there. I don't put anyone down for how they get there. You don't think Ness and Perawitz ride to Sturgis do you? Yes, I have ridden to Sturgis several times over the years, it is normally 1800 plus miles each way for me. Every time I do it, it is an IBA run for me.

What's important, That you ride!

Do I think Ness and Perawitz ride to Sturgis? I don't know about ever time, but I do know that they ride to Sturgis. There have been many magazine articles in the past about their riding. There used to be a group of the more famous builders, including Ness, Perawitz ,Donnie Smith, et. al.that called themselves the "Hamsters". They rode a lot according to the magazine articles.

Riding is a personal thing to me. Some people ride to be in groups and meet people. I am just the opposite.
I hate all the BS that ends up at the rallies these days. I don't care anything about all the drunks and burnouts and posing and crowdsetc. etc.etc.

You would be hard pressed to find me at any sort of rally. I have been going, off and on, for 30 years and it is getting to be more "off" than "on".

To trailer or not to trailer is a personal choice, just like my choice to avoid the Zoo that the rallies have become.

Question was whether they ride, and they do. This thread is about trailering a bike to a rally, not ridingthe bikewith the benefit ofa support vehicle.

Two buddies and I trailered our bikes to Daytona this year. Indianapolis to Daytona = >1000 miles. I was just too harsh for use to ride that far in freezing cold weather - then rain in Daytona. At also allowed us to drive straight through instead of stopping.

I don't think we would have enjoyed the riding we did down there as much if we would have riden. That's my story.

And yes, I'm going to trailer then there again next year. Just too far for my back - even with a StreetGlide.
Agree with Stingray. Here's what we woke up to in Indy Saturday morning getting ready to leave. Midwest weather too unpredictable in March. Plus, there's no way I can fit a weeks worth ofthe wife's crap in the saddle bags and tour pak

I don't care about so-called trailer queens, since there's a time and place for nearly everything under the sun.

What amazes me is the large number of Harley riding Drama Queens that get so worked up if and when some one has or uses a trailer and goes so far as to say there is noacceptable reason for using a trailer. Then tops it all off by saying that such a person shouldn't go to events or even have a bike.

Fact is, A "Trailer" is a type of birthing canal, a type of Mommy for every Harley sold. I base this on the fact that Harley's are "delivered" to the "show room" by a "Big Mother"of a "Trailer" with the Logos of Harley Davidson painted on the side. That "show room" will often have folks gawking in at the newly "Delivered" "Babies". Some ofthose gawkers, whenclosely related get to "Hold those New Babies".

I've had the honor of holding 5 of those "Babies" as my own and at the present time I have two of those "Babies".
