If I had a bagger I'd ride to a rally 500 miles away. But going 500 miles with the wife and no place to put any luggage for a 6 day trip on a Street Bob is just not going to happen. With that said I will be trailering to Myrtle Beach in couple of weeks. I don't give a F*ck what anybody thinks about it. It's my bike and it's my decision how I get there. If somebody has that big a problem with let me know, we can always go about back and discuss it like men.[:@]
It was 300 miles and perfect conditions. If you can't handle that, I know a great Honda dealer.
P.S. If we go out back, are you armed? If not, watch what you're asking for tough guy.
jbnl163,
Man you better cool it. You're going to get your azz kicked because you actually believe that amotorcycle is a form of transportation rather than a status symbol.
I don't care what people do. I agree that it's their own business. That doesn't change the fact that I feel it's a little bit silly to trailer a bike to an event. If it's too far, too cold, the wrong bike or whatever the reason is that it wouldn't work to ride the bike there, park the damn thing and drive your car. Who says you have to ride in circles on your motorcycle after you get there. Chit, pack your camping gear, load the car up and go enjoy the event. Does that make you less of a motorcyclist????
well put. the true zen master/pirate "biker" eventually doesnt even need the bike, and just shows up to the rallye in their pickup truck and pirate costume. Yarr! after all, the truck has a harley sticker on it, that should be good enough. riding eventually becomes secondary to the "lifestyle". Avast ye! and who are we to second guess such transcendence?
Since one of you may now be intimidated enough to part with your trailer, I am in the market for one. I'm thinking of something along the line of an EZ-Rider...6' X 12'...rear ramp door...you know the drill. Might consider a duel axel 7' X 12' if the price is right. Prefer black, but white will do. Send PM with pic of trailer.
I trailer mine to a few rallies if the wife goes because I need the room. Not enough room in the bike for 14 pairs of shoes, 4 pairs of sandals, 3pairs of riding boots, two leather jackets, a pair of chaps, 27 pairs of jeans, 18 t-shirts, 4 purses, 37 pairs of undies, 3 pairs of gloves, 4 suit cases and a couple of duffle bags. Let's see, did I forget anything? Oh yea, a garbage bag with a couple of my things.
Damn guy where did you put the beer?
Anytime I get the ride out of the Harley Shack I get in 100 miles. The distance to Memphis and back and the traveling around to do the service calls.
Haven't been able to do any meets yet. I have done a couple of air shows. I would ride there and Perry would fly in. They were @300 miles. When I see some one trailoring his mc I don't think they are wimps. They have their reasons. I just feel sorry that they aren't getting the chance to ride.
When I trailer mine I use an open air trailer and sit on the bike with the engine running while mywife drives thetruck. I laugh at her and call her aRUB and a POSER becauseshe trailers her bike(right next to me) and I ride!
Only RUBS and POSERS take pics of themselves riding.Andbesides, that RUB/POSER/TRAILER'g wife of mine can't take pics and drive the truck at the same time.

Got any pictures. I want to see them of you sitting on your bike on a trailer traveling down the road. So where are the pictures?
"I just don't get it.", neither do I, the only thing I can figure out is, they like the life style, but don't like riding. []
or if you see my bike on a trailer call 911, it was just stolen.
LMAO...Right On! That statement is SO true. Granted, some H-D's as well as other brands are just not made for the long haul and some medical problems require one to trailer. That said, I have no sympathy for those with the Dressers piled on the trailer, cruising to whatever venue in their 7 mpg SUV's. I like pulling along side and giving them the What's Up Look, pointing to the trailer. Usually they just smile and shrug. I enjoyed it more the few years I had my BMW K1200LT. Come to think of it, never recall seeing Beemers on a trailer, unless they were broken down....Hmmm guess thats why I never seen um.

I guess I'm guilty of doing both.... I trailered the bike after work to my brother inlaw's house on thursday night from San Diego to the Inland Empire (aprox 95 miles) because I was tired after work. The next morning I woke up an a group of us (10 bikes) rode from the I.E. to Laughlin aprox 250 to 300 miles, Sunday we rode back to the brother inlaws and again I trailered the bike back to Diego. Am I a rub? I doubt it.... I ride my shat!! Have had the bike 2 weeks now and have over 1000 miles. Thats more miles than most people ride in a year. I ride at least 1500 miles a month sometimes more if I have the time to. Very few days pass that I don't ride. So I agree with the statment made that different people have there reasons .... so why make it your concern. You paid for it ride it the way you like. And if you trade it in with low miles good for the next guy who gets it..
