This thread is funny, It makes me smile to see people argue about such trivial things in life.

Chris

This is one of those arguments that will never be won. But for my part...

I don't trailer. Never have, don't intend to. BUT, if you do, I couldn't care less. Hell, drag it around on a trailer full time if you want. It's not my concern.

What I can't abide is a fraud. Trailer it right into the heart of the rally. Show up clean, cool and fresh as a daisy. I'll be happy for you. If, however, you stop at the city limits to put on your dirty clothes, muss your hair, dirty you skin and work yourself into a sweat in order to make me think you rode the distance, you are a poser and a tool.

Just be honest, people. We're all too old to be play-acting.

*DISCLAIMER* I have only been to Sturgis twice.

But do people actually do what you just described. If I trailer my bike I am not going to hide the fact that I did, however, I won't volunteer any information either. I go with quite a few people and they will do the volunteerin' for me. If I trailer my bike, that is.

They're the exception, fortunately, but yes. I've seen some strange stuff as I get closer to rally sites.

I guess that it's escapism. A chance to leave one's actual life behind and step into some different shoes for a while.

I'd rather we all just keep it on the up and up than put on airs for folks we don't even know and will likely never see again.

ORIGINAL: AK_Hog_Herder And I too have seen bikes being offloaded at rest areas just outside Sturgis so the big bad bikers can claim "I rode mine!"
That is the only part of trailering anywhere that makes anyone a poser. I like to ride to rallys but Amy doesn't... so, most of the time, we trailer. Not my first choice but we've both ridden 300 miles in downpouring rain... just wasn't a lot of fun.

Besides, many times, we have to drop the girls off on the way out of town, they simply isn't any way to carry them on solo seats.

More importantly, have any of ya'll seen how many bags Amy packs??? You'd think she was going on a 10 day cruise...
