Default Another no-ride weekend

Got my bike up and ready to go for last weekend, but guess what... Some a$$hole tried breaking in my back yard thru my fence... Pulled so hard on the gate that one of the heads of the screws popped off, bent the latch and hinges to the point that the gate drags on the fence when you open it.So I spend the weekend fixing the gate and the fence and making sure the house is secure. Not too concerned about myself or the stuff in the house or yard, but God help the poor bastard the hurts or even scares my wife. And this weekend, we're celebrating our anniversary, going out of town for a 4 day weekend. Gonna see the races in Richmond, and do pretty much whatever she wants. Now yesterday I find out that my vacation has been planned out for me, was planning on a 2 week road trip, just me and the bike (was gonna leave her home... heck, SOMEone has to earn a living...) But nooOOOOoo.... we gotta go to a wedding overseas... Not too bad I guess, never been to Casa Blanca... not really sure I want to go tho. Anyway, I've had a very boring week with no riding and it's going to be at least another week before I'm able to really go for more than just a couple hours or so. I'm just venting I guess, only been on a couple good rides this season, and probably when I get the chance to go it'll be raining or something. So y'all have good rides this weekend, take pics and enjoy yourselves. Ride safe!!!
Oh, and a question... I realized a while back that when I'm on the bike I really want a beer more than when I'm in the cage, or riding with someone. Especially when I go out to shoot pool, on the bike I have to limit myself to just 1, but I want a LOT, and when I'm in the cage it's like... eh... doesn't matter, one or two, don't really want more than that. But on the bike, it's a different story. Anyone else feel that way? Or am I just getting weird in my old age... lol
Cheers [sm=icon_guiness.gif]

Happy anniversary, have a blast! I find it interesting that vacations are planned out before y'all talk.

Ah, the things we do for love (oh-oh)

I feel your pain. I hate it when stuff comes up that keeps me from taking my long weekend rides.

Sounds like you two need to do more talking with the little bit I got out of that. You're planning a two week ride and she's overbooking an overseas trip to Casa Blanca for a wedding? Was any of this discussed before the plans were made?

I get drier riding than in a cage, but I don't drink and ride. I'll carry water. Now, at the end of the trip, that's another story.

Eh, we talk plenty, she just found out about the wedding before I did. I think it was the bride-to-be told her not to take any more vacation days (she's her supervisor at work) because she wants us there. Thanks for the congrats and all, it was 20 yrs the other day . And now its off to the races! Have a great weekend all!

If you rent a bike overseas won't the handlebars be on the other side?

Feel your pain, ya ol' fart, er, ol' guy! Had my vacation planned for me this year. Have to go to the in-law's relatives in Hobbs, New Mexico. Not looking forward to it at all. That crew has some seriously screwed up idiots manning the rails.

In between college classes and THE MAMA trying to plan all my weekends, I started wondering why I even had a bike! Then the weather broke, and I started riding to wok, and remembered. Now THE MAMA gets all pouty when I tell her I ain't driving 100 miles in the cage with her and her Mom to go to a freakin' Braum's dairy store. Good grief!
