Almost done with this project in Dallas. Added saddlebags and love the function. Commuting has been great but I only have been riding 1/3 of the time. Harley Fat Bob makes a good commuting choice. Bike has held up ok,now has a leaking valve cover but it's been reliable.

I am a school teacher and have an '06 FLST. I ride almost everyday (bad fog or rain bad around here). I did not ride to day the fog was visibility less then 1/4 mile.
I will say I do look funny wearing a black riding jacket and slacks. I also have on nice days worn school shirts.
The ride is awesome and is about 30 miles each way little traffic.

I ride all the time with my suit under my Harley jacket and pullover commuting pants! People are surprised I look sharp after riding a bike but all it takes is some preplanning and maybe some extra hair products.

Or you can be bald like me. lol.
I teach high school, you should see the kids when teach rolls in on a HD with loud pipes. lol.
I work them 12hr rotating shift schedule's.....3 & 4, go from nights to days every two months. So I usually ride in 3 out of 4 days a week. Its 68 miles....round trip as I watch for the deer, hogs and other wild life that travels cross the back roads on my way to work.
My commute is about 40 miles round trip and is mostly surface streets with about 5 miles of I-10. We usually know well in advance in Phoenix when we are going to have rain or dust storms, so I don't always carry rain gear. Biggest issue is this time of year, when the temps are in the 30's-40's when I leave for work and in the 70's on the way home. Dress in layers.
