Not sure what the above quote means but my local dealer is open 7 days a week but no bike sales or service on Sunday.

In the end its economics 101; they won't be in business long if they can't cover the costs to keep the doors open. Some shops run with a fairly small staff so there's not enough people to cover 6 let alone 7 days a week.

I appreciate all the useful feedback. As far as the less useful feedback, in case you haven't noticed, this site is full of rants about the MoCo and its products and other vendors and their products, many of them site sponsors. So, why you chose to crap in my thread is beyond my comprehension. But, I've been told when you live in your parent's basement and you weren't hugged enough when you were a baby, stuff like this is bound to happen. FWIW, I couldn't care less about other parts of the world's problems. I did my time babysitting the world and I sacrificed doing it. So, go **** yourself.

I never understood why dealers in the snow belt states are closed on Sunday. Laws that apply to car dealers don't apply in my neck of the woods.

The season is short. Sunday is the post popular riding day for many. Some dealers have winter and (longer) summer hours that include Sat and Sun for Sales and Motorclothes. Service follows the same schedule year round.

In my area all of our HD stores are open 7 day's a week but no service on Sunday. It is helpful for people like me who until a few months ago worked every Saturday.
It is nice to have them open but they probably do not do enough business to justify being open. Once one of them opens the others feel like they are missing out if they don't.
That is what happened in the car business, some greedy owner decided to open, so all the others followed. Most of my stores that are open don't really do much business on Sunday but sell a lot on Monday and Tuesday from the people they met on Sunday that were "just Looking"

It's retail business, so the employees knew coming in they would be working when others weren't, thats just how it is.

I was at two dealerships yesterday (Sunday). The first one was where I purchased my bike last Monday and had saddlebag guards installed that they owed me. The second one I went to was just to pick up some parts .

I'm pretty lucky in that out of about five dealerships around me, a couple are open on sundays and mondays. Plus, like an earlier poster mentioned, we've got Iron Pony really close by and while it's not Revzilla or J&P it's still a huge motorcycle superstore.

My local dealership is also closed Sunday and Monday. A very good friend is the sales guy there and he is allowed 1, yes ONE, Saturday off between May and October and that is the one Saturday when they hold an annual children's charity run that is a Memorial for his son.
I don't mind them being closed Sunday and Monday even if it requires I change my plans.
