2013 Street Glide 6 gallon tank..... fuel gage is nice, but..... I use it only as a guide. I reset trip meter every tank. did that on my Sporty and it's a habit I got used to. far more accurate than the fuel gage. plus I always record every gallon I put in and track mileage. I average around 40.2 overall....found a handy app that I input miles, gallons and cost, and it tracks for me. never trust the fuel gage. Closest I got to empty was 5.3 in 6.0 gal tank.
Pretty much ignored the gauge on my Deluxe (never seemed to be very consistent). My Limited does seem to behave itself - first quarter is pretty much spot on, then it picks up the pace, and hits empty with just about a gallon left. I still use the trip meter as my primary fuel indicator though.
Gas gage on my 09 Fat Bob shows empty way before actual. Better than the alternative.
Miles remaining readout is much closer. 5 gallon tank. when gauge shows empty usually takes about 3.5 gallons to fill.
From what most say in here (I must have gotten a weird one).. By that I mean my Gas Gauge has worked PERFECTLY since I got it new in 07 and now with 53K...
Every time my Reserve Light comes on and I stop at the next station, it ALWAYS take between .9 and 1.1 gals to fill up..
Just cause this thread made me think about it I ran my '16 Road King down to empty this afternoon. Went to 0 on the distance to empty readout and then I did about four miles on the "Lo Fuel" readout and gage pegged on zero. I had 0.54 gallons left in the tank.
