Default FP3 tuning recommendations

V&H Pro Pipe & intake. Are there any other settings I should mess with outside of just using the map from V&H? Is autotune worth using or would that offset the custom map?

Thanks

You should check the automatic compression release ON/OFF under "system switches" and make sure they're on. When I've flashed new maps to my Breakout with my FP3, they have had the ACRs turned off.....You didn't say how the bike is running, if good, you may not see an improvement running autotune. The FP3 maps, especially when using V&H pipes are usually close to right on. I've run a couple of extensive A/T sessions on my BO, but both times flashed back to the base map because it was better. I also just put cams in my Rocker, and the edited map is so good that I don't even plan on running an A/T session. If the bikes not running great or you think it could be better, you can always try an A/T session (should be at least 150-200 miles) and see what you think, if no improvement, just flash back to the base map.....also if your having any issues with decel pop, the pop reduction feature under "air/fuel" works well!!!

Try different throttle progresivity settings.

I use "aggresive". There is stock, stock plus, moderate, aggressive, and 1:1. Take the base map, change the throttle, and make a third map. (Stock, canned, and one copy of the canned to try different changes).

I use an autotuned map, plus have a copy in another slot to experiment with. If what im trying doesnt work, I just roll it back to the previous map.

Angry We almost got nailed today...

My bride and I were out for a nice Arizona winter's day ride {about 56 degrees, sunny with no wind}, and came too damned close to disaster. We were in the left {of two lanes}, doing 45 when this piece garbage in a 3/4 ton crew cab pickup decides stop signs are for other people.

We were going south and he was trying to turn north across two lanes in front of us to go north. I saw him slow as he approached the stop sign but he never looked left {towards us}, and just kept coming into the intersection at about 20.

I jumped all over the brakes and had us down to about 15 mph in one big controlled hurry when he finally slammed on his brakes. That left me just enough room to do a quick swerve around the front of his truck {I could have, should have kicked in his radiator}. If he hadn't stopped when he did I was going to Tee bone his rear axle, we were only doing about 15 by then but it would have not been fun.

He gave me a weak, embarrassed wave as we slid by him and I know he heard me clearly {"WTF!!!"} as his window was down. Did not see a cell phone but it was probably in his hand. Arrrrrg!

My Dyna SG has the pulsing headlight, 50 watt driving lights and I wear a high vis lime green/yellow modular helmet.... so how many freaking lights does it take before these chuckleheads start seeing us and actually stopping for the stop signs???

Rant off... for now and yes, as a matter of fact I do feel a little better.
