Default problem with security system

I stopped to fuel my 2013 Eglide a couple of days ago. When I turned the ignition on to leave the alarm went off. So I shut the ignition off and started again. Same result. I switched the batteries the batteries in both key fobs with new spares I carry but to no avail. I eventually had to disarm it with the code I'd set up. Then I turned the ignition on again and guess what. No alarm.

The old batteries and the new ones both put out 3 volts when I checked them.

Can anyone explain this mystery for me?

Last time I had crazy stuff like that with my alarm, it was caused by very low MC battery.

It's not unheard of to install the battery upside down.

it could have been caused by rf interference. could have been any number of things conflicting with your signal, ranging from the electronics in the gas pump to something in the store, or even in another customers vehicle. did you have your fob in the same pocket as your cell phone?

in a case like that, before you start freaking out and changing batteries and stuff, just enter your code and drive away. if it is happening on a regular basis, or it's been over a year since you changed your fob batteries, then you can think about changing batteries. for reference, I usually go about 3 years on a fob battery. if, after changing batteries in the fob, it is still occurring, and you are certain that you installed the batteries right side up, then the next likely culprit, as big papa mentioned, is the bike's battery.

The members in my 'club' swear this is a phenomenon at gas stations and security cameras. They claim when they roll the bike away from the pumps they start right up. I cannot verify because I do not have the system but many have attested this to be the case.

why don't you tell them that instead of pushing 900lbs away, just to use their override codes? it's a whole lot easier to push a turn signal with your thumb.

i never understood why some people like to work harder......

Thanks people. The bike battery is five years old so it could be the culprit but it still starts the bike with no problem. I usually change them out after five years anyway. After I used the code I had no more trouble anywhere including gas stations. I did check the fob batteries. All of them were putting out 3 volts so they were ok.

Default Key fob antenna

I am on the road away from my manuals. Does anyone have a picture of the key fob antenna so I can trace it down and rule out a wiring issue with it?
thanks in advance.

RFI from fuel pumps. Push bike away from the pump then start.

sure, you could do that. or you could take the quick, easy way out and use your override code. it'll give you practice using it too. (just make sure that your fob is away from the bike when attempting to input the code)
