Default Riser bushings.. opinions please..

Took off some drag bars and replaced em with some stock fatboy bars(cause I had em).. They have alot of play em, back and forth, I checked the riser bolts to be sure they were tight(they are) so I assume the rubber bushings are worn out.. I'm gonna buy some replacements, just wanted some opinions on stock rubber ones, poly ones, and the solid aluminum ones..

Still cleaning the tank, and also have to extend the wires to the bars, thats why its missing...

I tell ya, polyethylene bushings are superior to rubber for certain, and except for track bikes, I see no reason for aluminum bushings to exist.

I ran poly on 16" apes for years and they were fine!

I mounted a set of 14” bars once with the stock rubber bushings and rode for a week just to see the difference. I was pretty amazed at how much the bars flexed and it made me realize that I’ll always use the poly bushings. (Already had them in hand, I just wanted to see first hand how much flex the rubber bushings allowed).

Poly all the way. I had the stock rubber ones in my Heritage before I swapped bars and the amount of flex felt scary. I replaced them with poly and it feels much more solid.

I did mine the same way as yours, poly were like night and day better than rubber.

I went back to rubber on my low rider. I have no flex in my bars though. When I tried poly, my bars picked up every vibration and made them worse.

The stock rubber bushings got sloppy in a few years. I put in poly bushings and they’ve worked great for 20 years. They still absorb the Evo vibrations but have stayed tight.
