Does anybody recommend against wrapping my pipes with the heat shield still on it? The heat shield as a different kind of style than the actual pipes which I prefer but I really want to wrap them because they are all scratched up
So:are you saying you want to wrap around the outside of the heat shields because they are scratch up?
- I guess if you want the look of big wrapped pipes you can domthat
-or...remove the shields and wrap the pipes
- or buy new shields, or have them powder coated or chromed.
I guess re powder coating them would be the best option but I like the rap look however the actual Muffler looks a lot different then the heat shield and they're not foreign it's Vance & Hines the pipes are awkwardly shaped the shields make them look perfectly round and they go to a point that's why I kind of want to keep them
Wrapping over the heatshields will make them look fat and weird, to be honest. And talking of wrap, I did wrap the pipes on my slim (with no heatshields) and they were HOT! So much so that they were actually painful in stop and go traffic. ymmv
