So looking for a half helmet for this NC summer heat. I had one before and it gave me a bit of mushroom head so trying to find one that isn't as bad. I know basically all half helmet will give you some but was looking for someone with experience with several brands to see what you think is best.
And I know this question has been asked before but for some reason the search function hates my phone and won't work.
Half helmets that have the most protection are going to be larger and maybe make your head into a mushroom. You into cool looks or safety if your going to wear one.
Harley used to have a Hybrid half helmet that was a low profile half helmet. It didn't give you mushroom head and it is also lightweight. Looking on Harley's site I don't see it listed anymore.
I have one and I really like it.
Just personal opinion here... But there are extremes in both directions... The ones that go for the tightest profile possible look just as silly... Like they have some kind of plastic prophylactic on their head.
The Akoury- AK88 was already mentioned. Maybe a GMAX GM-65 (what I have) might also be a good compromise (between form/function).
Then again... Head shape is going that have a say... You don't want discomfort becoming a major (limiting) factor. What you end up going with will in part be dictated by the head shape the manufacturer caters to.
