I have a 1957 Harley Davidson with a motor stamp of 5761573. What is it? It was left to me by my father.
Sorry but those numbers are meaningless as posted. The VIN# for 1957 would look something like 57FL1666 (Hydra Glide model) or even 57XLCH11631 (Sportster). This represents the year, model and last 4 or 5 numbers are the sequential production numbers. There were other HDs being produced but the Hydra Glide and the Sportster were the most common.
As stated any chance you could post up a pic of the VIN. It is located on the left side of the motor, above the timing inspection hole and at the base of where the front and rear cylinders meet
