My buddy bought a new 17 Road King special a week after the 18 models came out and they took 2500 off MSRP, and threw in detachable sissy bar installed, couple shirts, hat, and first service
sorry, should have quoted @shodown220 in my earlier post, wanted to see what dealer he goes to in NC.

Thanks

Care to share which dealership this was? I am in Bristow and will likely be buying a SG this winter. Preferably a good deal on an 18 if I can find a leftover (in black like everyone else).

Nope, but it at least gives you an idea of what is a fair deal.

Ive used that site's prices to buy my 3 Harley's.

My initial offer is ALWAYS the invoice price off of that website. On two bikes that was the price I ended up paying(plus freight and TT&L obviously). On the 3rd I paid about 850 bucks over what is shown on that website.

Whats the worst a dealer is going to say? No... so you walk away and go to a different dealer.

I guess in Dallas we have the luxury of having like 10 Harley dealers and within 5 hours have probably 15 more. The deals are there to be had if you know what you are doing, but like has been said, I would guess 80% of buyers have no clue and dealers prey on that.

Add tax, DMV fees and documentation and you are pushing $25,000! WTH! It's no wonder they have so much stock on hand. The place was a ghost town. Anyone else finding their dealers inflating the price of their remaining 2018 bikes?
PT Barnum was right...

They only stand for it if you are 43 years old making $11 an hour and want a bike real bad.
getting approved for a harley making 11 an hour is impressive considering how picky harley is getting a loan for...it was either pay high interest or no bike

some of us people don't have it where they can just go in and get approved for 5% on a road king and have cheap monthly payments

Isn't it against HD Mothership policy to charge more than the MSRP? I thought marking up was forbidden ...

I'm fairly confident that your limited financial resources would be better spent on a gym membership.

Nope. Dealerships are independent businesses and are free to charge whatever they can get away with.

I imagine the MoCo would have a problem with dealers selling too cheaply though. As if that would ever happen....
