Default Baker 6 speed rsd
Has anyone had any issues with their baker? I purchased a chopper last year and have been having issues with it staying in first. Falls out of first into neutral. Taken it to the local shop twice and still the problem continued. Tried to go for a ride this past weekend, and went to stop by the local shop. Lost all gears. Turns out the weld on the shift pawl broke. Didn’t know if this is a common problem or an isolated incident.

How about giving Baker transmissions a phone call, they're good folks.They deserve a chance to help you out.

I had problems with two Baker transmissions and they stood behind both of them.

When did you purchase this transmission? Baker transmissions purchase from Baker or one of our dealers come with a 5 year/50,000 mile warranty. If your unit falls inside these parameters we can get it back and have a look at it for you. I'm not sure what happened to yours but the pawl should not break. You can give us a call at 517-339-3835 or email me mark@bakerdrivetrain.com.

Sounds like he's not the original purchaser of the trans, just the bike he bought came with it.
