Fiddling is one thing that helps me get thru the winter - if not for that I think I’d go nuts. The new year ride is canned thanks to - what else - the weather.
Any of you ever get to the point of "that's enough" and stick to it ....?
....... since getting the SERG I'm like ChuckW2, ...walk thru the dealership & don't see anything that's an 'improvement'.. (well, since getting the ext. shift lever, airwing rack light & added saddlebag lighting anyway)
.......... and i am NOT on any aftermarket mailing lists, ......... too dangerous.
After purchasing my 2010 last year and swearing that it needs nothing I found a few things over the year and made some needed mods to suit me better. Extended out floorboards, extended shifter and brake lever, LRS shield, a few farkles and a stage one set-up with catless head pipe. So, unless something radical comes out I am done with any mods. Yep, I sure am......but really I am.......
The last thing I did was the cams this past summer. When I had the cams done, the plan was to take Christmas bonus money and get heads done, and maybe a bump in displacement and/or compression. However, the bike runs so damn good now, I honestly believe I'm done. I MAY add something like chrome forks/wheels, but not in the immediate plans. I just love this motorcycle the way it is!
I am satisfied with my bikes. I don't want to make any changes. I'll maintain them & fix anything that breaks or wears out & that's it. It's a good place to be in life. I'm happy!
Me too and I couldn't agree more...it's good to be content. Although I reserve the right to change my mind on that, I don't believe that I will. Never thought I'd get to this point as the bug to constantly evolve the bikes becomes addicting, but at this point, I have no desire to do anything further to them. I'm at the point where I'm well on track to be able to retire when I want to but given the volatility of our world, it can't hurt to pad that nest a bit more rather than throw any more $$$ to the Harleys.
