For the most part i am doing ok with what i have now always looking to upgrade thats for sure Harley Davison gave me a great Change to get back on a new bike. I was on a Goldwing 2010 model loved that bike so much put 70.000 miles on her in no time at all, Had to sell her do to a divorce so i sold it for some cash an another bike VTX 1800 nice bike need a lot of cleaning up got her done but she was no Goldwing. I went in to a HD dealer one night i must admit i always wanted one got approved for a line of credit rode out with a new 17 Road Guide Ultra beautiful bike but wrong bike. I have some perception problems and could not handle the bike properly it ended up being a oil leaker I dropped it 3 times never drop my wing. Figured out it wasn’t the bike for me found another dealer and traded it back for a 17 Ultra Classic love this ride should have gotten this from the start. They were able to get me out my Road Glide to my current ride with just a 15 dollar hike in my payment and lowered me to 19 percent.
All of this at high interest rates i didnt care at the time i was riding plus my Wing was a high rate loan witch i did pay off, needless to say the 19s are out theres a low rider out that i love puts my feet on the ground 114 motor with Apple play water cooled nice stuff just having problems getting a better rate. In two years i have cleaned up my credit scores almost at a 7 now hope to trade for the 19 soon or even get a New Wing Harley playing hard ball with me as they the best trade is with them. Walked out on my dealer a day ago told i am done with them good buy Honda gave me a great rate but they wants 7000 down to help pay off the Harley.
I am living a great life now reconnect back with my Wife own a new home in Stuart,Fl she stopped Drinking now she has two years, now didnt care much when i was renting had the money to throw away. But now its a different storie every penny counts since we our in our new home.
It's a fricken' disease that never ends! I have at least 4 things waiting in the garage to install, maybe today, meanwhile I still keep browsing for more stuff. Actually thinking about hitting my dealer this afternoon for a chrome air cleaner bolt to replace the ugly stainless one - how's that for diseased?
If a person is still looking for modifications and or things to add to their bike at Harley dealerships they have not even scratched the surface of the so called disease. And I am quoting you to let you know that for such shiny things as a bolt you are further ahead going to an ACE hardware or somewhere similar.
And OP, there are many steps past this program than the 1) bars, 2) seats, 3) shocks syndrome.
It never freaking ends. I told myself and my wife that I'm finished with my FXLR. Then I got to thinking, the stock handlebars tend to hurt my wrists, maybe something straighter would help. Been looking at Street Slammers, I've read that the stock cables and wires work. $250 and I'm done. Sat on some bikes with drag bars at my dealer yesterday, they just weren't doing it for me. Now I'm thinking some low rise apes (open to suggestions from anyone). I'll need to extend the wires and cables. If cables need to be replaced why go with black when stainless steel braided are whispering in my ear? Well damn, the switch housings, master cylinder and clutch mount will be off, maybe I could replace them with chrome. Black buttons in chrome housings don't get it so add chrome switches to the list. Oh yeah, I forgot about the levers, stock wouldn't work for me with chrome housings, maybe I should replace them too. The $250 handlebars are now north of a grand.
I've never done beyond pipes and AC performance-wise on my bikes but dang, a torque cam would be sweet......
Sorry for rambling but that's how my mind works.

Pretty much. It's tough to walk through the dealer ( or the J&P catalog ) and look for something to buy and not see anything that would be an improvement for me. I almost bought some new hand grips last week but the only ones I like don't fit my bike.
Your project is comfortable, form & function fine, design perfect to your eye.
But, some continue to have an itch. "There is never enough chrome" for example. Or some like to
to keep tinkering. Nothing wrong with that. This is a great hobby.
FWIW As example I am satisfied with my car mods and fairly satisfied with my Sportster mods. My dollars
could be better spent on hookers and blow haha.
Bought my Fat Boy six years ago and did a few mods in the first year. Had a 73 Bonneville 750 before that (in my younger days) that I spent as much time tweaking as I did riding. I really missed that for a while, but got used to it. Pretty happy with it now. But then again...….just picked up an '09 Spitfire that I'm beginning to think might require a little more attention than the Fat Boy does.....might enjoy that again too...…..
