Come see me in Eureka, I run the Poor Richard's restaurant in town.
Cold beer and great chicken wings!!
(I sell about a ton a week)
I think I stopped there the last time I was in town. I used to always stop and get a steak at Ponderosa/Bonanza (whichever) and it was shut down last time. I went to a sports bar& grill back behind it. Seems like that was the name of it.
I've never had trouble staying in the Eureka or Pacific area. Sometimes I take the RV and set up camp at Robertsville S.P. just south of Pacific. It is a really nice quiet park and campground.
Damn yall got me a little concerned about my route now with traffic, crime, etc. makes me want to stay out of it all together but I would like to see the arch and Budweiser if its not going to be inconvenient or unsafe.
Im riding from Nashville. Staying at the KOA south of town in a place called Pacific across from six flags. Is that a good area? Google has me going right though the city. 64 west to 44 south. Is that a bad way to go?
The arch and around Budweiser are perfectly safe.
Pacific is a nice area well outside of St. Louis city. Kind of "country" out there even. You'll be perfectly fine there. The KOA is a nice one, unless it's changed a lot in the last few years (unlikely).
Regardless of what else you do, watch your speed going through Missouri on I-70. They love to ticket out of state vehicles, it is a funding issue for them.
I got a ticket for 75 in a 70 if you can believe that.

With a screen name of tortoise and you were speeding?
It’s not fair to judge the whole area the same, but when I hear St Louis all I can think of is Larry Weaver. R.I.P Larry.
Do a forum search. If that story doesn’t **** you off nothing will.
Safe journey.

I agree that was a horrible deal but that wasn't St. Louis, that happened about 150 miles south in Sikeston, Mo.
I've covered the CONUS from one corner to the other and I've seen dangerous areas but I've never felt unsafe anywhere in Mo. whether it was North St. Louis or Prospect street in K.C. although I wouldn't spend the night or park my vehicle out of sight in some of the areas due to thieves.
Bad **** can happen anywhere but with some caution and common sense it isn't too bad.
They just shot 2 people this morning down in Fenton on hwy.44. Don't kid yourself ,St.Louis is a very dangerous place and they will prey on out of state plates. They come out into the surrounding counties and commit their crimes and run back to the city.
