door opener

I am having a random problem with my HD garage door opener. I have owned it for 5 years and over that time on occasion it lost its program during quick power outages. This past weekend during a power outage it lost its program again but it also opened the garage door on its own. The bad thing was I was over a 1000 miles away when this occurred. Has anyone else ever had this problem? I am about ready to remove it from the bike/door opener but it is so convenient when it works properly.

Relatively new here but didn't even know there was such a thing. This would be an awesome feature on my Street Glide Special.

Next time unplug the opener when you go away. I know it’s not a cure but it’ll temporarily solve the problem

I've got a garage door opener that works on all my bikes. I just press the button and the door opens.

Pull the door release cord and it won’t open it. You assume it was the Harley receiver but it might have been the opener.

I have the HD garage door opener, and I have not had an issue with it. Now that I've said that, it'll fail me soon!!! But it's been on two different bikes over 16-17 years. I would be lost without it! Well not lost, but really inconvenienced by it! Knock on wood.
Plus I have no suggestions for the OP. Sorry!!
