Yes, I thought the stats were interesting too about minimizing your risks and therefore chances of a crash. I wound up riding in just a half helmet and thoroughly enjoyed the day. It was very hot the latter part of the ride, but with the windshield, didn't catch any road debris in the face and was comfortable. Rode in my mesh jacket during the morning but even ditched that once the temps climbed back up into the high 90's. One of the guys stored it for me in his hard case, but I had to put it back on when we got close to home when we parted company, and must say I just wilted in the heat and humidity putting that on over my tank top. It was bearable, but only just.
There ain't nothin sadder than a wilted Georgia peach
Glad you had a good ride and hopefully you were able to get hydrated when you got home..[sm=alcoholic.gif][sm=alcoholic.gif]
I did and thanks. Actually, we carried water with us so it wasn't a problem, and also sunscreen. The group we rode with was very safe and responsible. It was a lovely day except for the heat and humidity, but I was tired when I got home.
