Default Broke down lessons learned

About 300 miles into a 400 mile ride yesterday I stopped to get lunch, parking lot was on a hill, when I stopped to back into a parking spot my foot slipped and I dropped my bike onto the crash bar. No big deal just picked it up backed it in then went and ate. Came back out it wouldn't start. Checked all my electrical connections looked good even called the dealer service and did everything they could think of and nothing everything worked but it would just turn over and not fire. So I'm 130 miles from home can't get a hold of anybody with a trailer no dealers any closer than home and u-haul is closed so can't rent one. Call the insurance they won't cover towing that far gonna cost $400 so I just called the wife told her to go buy a trailer, we've been considering buying one anyway, and come get me.
Hey up this morning whe I'm not frustrated and standing in the 90 degree sun go to the garage and start checking over the bike looking and feeling for loose connections. Happen to brush against the fuel line and the quick disconnect pops loose, popped it back on and the bike fired right up, kind of feel like an idiot now. But I want to thank the several bikers who stopped and tried to help me but no one thought about that quick disconnect so if your bike ever won't start might want to check that first.

The other lesson learned is to get better insurance! I have progressive, and they cover towing to the nearest dealer, not limited by distance.

Just had the quick disconnect come lose on my 750 street. It would not start and no reason not to. Decided to pull plugs and and needs to be removed or lifted a little to get front one out.. Went to disconnect it and the darn connector had come lose.
So now you have a trailer.

Well, at least you know you have a good wife. Did she roll her eyes when she found out you fixed it yourself?

Your wife knows you disconnected the fuel line yourself just so you would have an excuse for her to go buy a trailer.

Oh look honey, it was just the fuel line. Who'da thought? Good one.
