Default Unknown fluid leaking onto backrest

Hello all, I have a 2004 Fatboy I bought new in July 04. Still runs great, right at 60K mileage. Have had major back issues so bike hasn't been ridden much at all in last five or six years, maybe a thousand miles total. I'm still only able to take short rides but now after each ride, always 50 miles or less, I have spots on my backrest where something has leaked onto the backrest. Nothing ever gets on me, I can't find any evidence on bike of what's leaking, and finally, I even took the bike in to a good local shop I use for service and also to find what's leaking onto the backrest. The guy at the shop couldn't find out what the issue was either! Anybody have a clue??

Dave

Air cleaner spitting oil? Dipsticks tight? Oil spots anywhere else? Got a fork leaking?

Have you smelled the liquid? Could it be sweat? MXJunky never had a backrest on a bike but it's pretty high on the bike and really nowhere near any moto related fluids...

My guess too. Likely something from yourself.

do fluids fall anywhere but down in your neck of the woods?

where do you keep? look up

under a tree? maybe tree sap

in your garage? maybe your wife is hiding a dead body in the garage attic, dead body juice is probably pretty nasty stuff <shrug>

if it's coming off the bike, i can't think of anything under the seat or on either side that could be throwing fluids up that far

Stop slobbering at the girls !

I had a old weed eater up on the shelf in the garage one time that dripped some 2 stoke oil on my bike. Could not figure out where is was coming from. Drove me nuts.

Well, I tried that but couldn't smell anything. It's not sweat, it's something that has to be cleaned off. Gonna try and upload two pics from after short ride yesterday. This time there's also a spot on the rider seat.
