Default general question

Eh not an M8 question. but wasnt sure where else to ask this.

Silly question I suppose, but what do you guys do that wear half helmets AND glasses when it rains. Man! water gets on my glasses and I cant see a freaking thing! I've tried rainX, but didn't seem to help. There has to be something safe for prescription glasses that will repel water better. Ive thought about buying a helmet with a slide down visor, but I'd hate to have to carry it all the time.

I wear this style with prescription lenses.

not an M8 answer but since we are going way off the rails here I would say it's a good thing you can't see a freaking thing because most accidents result in a face plant so you'd miss seeing the imminent and impending horror ... get a FF helmet to solve those problems

I was hoping the part about "guys that wear half helmets" would garner some suggestions from those, that well...wear half helmets. But thanks for the kind reply.

And the mods can move it if they wish. I only frequent this forum and maybe the classified ones. But again, thanks for the helpful reply.

For what it’s worth, my road travels where it rains and I must ride, I and everyone else has a full face helmet. Never really see half helmet in rain, because of what you experienced.

That said, one of my first forays, I had a half helmet, I got rain goggles, and swapped them with my riding glasses. Even though it was a viable option, I got a full face for future trips. A local ride isn’t a must if rain is falling or will fall.

I have gotten caught out, but have been able to lay low at a bar until it passes. That’s in AZ.

Tennessee, when it calls for rain, it rains, the bar will close before it stops FN raining. Even when it’s not supposed to rain, it rains. I have learned quickly to see if it’s raining in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana, then it’s going to probably rain in Tennessee.

(thanks for that tip folks that lived there forever)

Thanks. Its crazy here. This time of year can show no rain in the forecast, then like yesterday you can hit a pop up shower leaving work heading to the gym. lol. Rained for about 3 miles on the back road I travel to and from work. No rain within 10 miles everywhere else.

My glasses are pretty much goggles....they do have the foam inserts that seal them to my face a bit more, but that wouldn't stop the issue of course. I have seen something about a hydrophobic coating. Might have to ask my eye Dr about that.

Also, the rainX I used is for plastic. I know the older type can ruin plastic, so made sure of that.
