Love it. I think by far best release in a while from HD. I like what they are doing. Great introduction video too. Well done and edited. That black CVO RG ST....man oh man. Every year these releases happen, I am reminded why I love this brand.
I have been a multi-brand motorcycle owner since the 1970s. Without the "Lifestyle", Harley Davidson is just another motorcycle, and they need to be able to compete on that basis. I still like Harleys but so far, I'm disappointed in this year's offerings. I know that it's easier to produce new videos than it is to produce new models.
You didn't miss anything. They spent probably 20 of those 24 minutes prattling on about lifestyle, trying to sell the sizzle and not the steak, and they pretty much forgot to talk about the steak at all. No real details. Which, I guess, is meant to drive you to the dealer or look up stuff on your own, but putting the onus on the customer to do the work is a sales mistake.
I guess the whole point of the video wasn't really to introduce any new models, it was just to make someone say "man, my life sucks, I wish mine was like those guys, I should buy a Harley." Which, sure, fine, whatever, but don't call that a "new model introduction".
I felt like I was lured into a free dinner, but first I had to sit through a 4-hour presentation on time shares.
Meh.
Hoping they'll have some more introductions later in the year. They usually do.
This mirrors my thoughts after watching the reveal video too. I wanted more info about the new bikes and less info about strangers I don't care to know.
I enjoyed the HD website this morning more than the video.
Tough crowd in here. Good scenery, entertaining video, all from a brand I love. If HD refuses to evolve, they will become extinct. With a brand like HD whose fanbase largely prefers to hold onto the past - I would say they are doing a good job at updating their portfolio all while holding onto much of what their audience loves about them.
It was a video focused on personalities of the riders. I should aspire to be them? I think not. Am I so insecure that I want to be someone other than myself? Or some longing for some sort of "freedom" some backyard-confined city kid feels while on a bicycle?
And the people that they chose to represent the MoCo in the video. Jeesh! Urban-sexuals should not be presented as the face of the company.
And the two dudes playing flirt-tag in the city. That was repulsive.

100% agree.
What you will find here is some individuals should just jump off the bridge and put themselves out of their misery. Year after year, they bitch and moan about HD, but yet, they keep riding them. I don't get it. It's like bunch of old, fat, grumpy old men with nothing else to do. You rarely hear anything positive said about the HD here or anything else. This place truly became negative.
I really find hard to believe that there is absolutely nothing to like for someone in this release.

I kept waiting for someone to mention updates to engine, suspension, electronics from the previous year but it never happened. They didn't even address the obvious fairing and bag updates that were CVO-only last year. And the website isn't much more informative. It seems like a real missed opportunity for HD that potential customers have to rely on third-parties to learn about their products.
