Default Koolking heat deflector

Well I bought a koolking heat shield (http://www.koolking.net/). Hubby absolutely insisted I buy one of these things sooooo here are some pictures. I just put it on while putting on the new tire haven't even taken it for a ride yet. I have to ride tomorrow so it will get a trial then. the upper is naugahide and the lower is very soft but supposed to be good up to over 1500 degrees.

Sorry blurry....daughter had turned off my flash.

Its a great idea, a leg heat shield, but on the flip side, it seem to deflect the heat back into the engine and oil bag.
Lets us know the long term use.

please post how it works, and how much "flapping" in the wind does it do while riding down the road?

IMO, it looks like a saddle blanket.

They look huge and out of place in my opinion. I have the "No more fried thighs" which work great and look part of the seat. I hope they work for you and you are pleased.

Looks a little overwhelming to me but what ever keeps you cool.

Ummmm, maybe I can have my wife sew some flaps on my jeans and accomplish the same thing and set a new fashion trend.......or NOT......of course I walk liike a duck anyway. I keep thinking how much everyone is going to love that hot motor about Dec.

??? I would see about a refund ??? Can't see a need for anything that extreme. I rode the same bike for 3 years and never even remotely had a problem with heat.

Ok rode to work and didn't catch fire...so it passed that test

I actually this might work out ok for long rides, which is my current problem. (I have no problems greater then anyone else with sitting in traffic.) I do find it ugly but this vs. burns....sigh. I did feel the outside getting warm on the ride in.

The sides are actually removable...in fact the whole thing is easily removable just by slighly raising the seat. I did not notice a massive amount of flapping on the 80 mph ride to work. The under side is very soft but I will still be looking for any signs of rubbing from flapping. There is airflow so I don't think it is causing any more heat then any other heat deflectors offered on this site or anywhere else at high speed. Since it is under the seat also I'm hoping it is going to help with the heat coming from under the seat (due the the current gel insert).

Not sure I would really want it on there (on the sides at least) for short rides or rides where the bike would be doing slow manuvering and getting excessively hot without a lot of air flow. It does act very much like a blanket. Maybe just taking off the sides (they are velco) and throwing them in the bags would be better.

Personally it was not my choice...is a useless or sucky product? I think it is way over priced but has a place. I don't think I will be making it a permenant fixture. I looked into the "Fried Thighs" setup and decided against it based on what I knew about where my heat is radiating from....I also did not want something that I couldn't just take off an throw in the bag if I wanted too.

I have True duals and have been having an issue with heat on the left side during long trips (2nd degree burn on inner upper thigh). Part of it is due tohow the seat was altered (which will be fixed when I have a new custom seat made in the next couple of months). I have also had a custom heat shield made for the pipes but while it is wonderfully coolwhere the new heat shield is, it turns out that was not the spot.

I'm glad you never had a heat problems but unless you had/have my same setup and seat alterationsyou probably didn't have the same issues.

I didn't notice the duel pipes in the photo. I would take a second look and reconsider your set up before adding more stuff. It is after all just my two cents, but if you didn't toss your stock pipes I would think about putting the old pipes back on. Especially if the duels burned you that bad.
