Okay, this may seem like a stupid question but I'm always trying to save a buck. Will SE slip ons from an 06 Softail fit my 07 Dyna SBin any way shape or form?
See post #6........I guess you could also adapt the Softail arm. I looked at doing that, but the Softail arm looked cheesy to me and the brackets were easier to do. The muff with the little longer stub is the rear one. I forget how much I took off.
The pipes aren't on the bike, so if you need measurements let me know, But if you mount the pipes and the arm you can come up with your own angles and measurements. I used the least possible angleon the brackets. The screws are stainless carriage screws spotted to the bracket so they don't rotate. You can also use nylock nuts on them, they won't melt.
The slip-ons I used were for a 2000 later Softail # 80220-02 SEII+ . I don't know if the mounts will be the same on yours, do you know? If so, I'll send you a diagram with measurements and parts.
The part numbers are the same for the 2000 thru 2006 Softails. Should be a fit. Although I understand the SE II's are no longer available the mount should be the same.
Thanks, got the PM. All the info for fabrication seems to be clearly defined. I will generate a drawing for both brackets with and without the bends. I'll probbly go with the bend for a cleaner look.
Thanks again for all your help, I do appreciate it!
