problems with Harley Davidson Finacial?
Long story short...
sometimes late by a few days on the payment but all ways make them up and include the late payment fees, well even after arrangements are made with HD rep. the will call back in a matter of hours to ask when the payment can be expected? then the following day up to 8-12 calls on 2 lines. then this am a call at 5:30 am ....
my account is current and not late all I ddi was call to request an extension of the loan which was declied on sunday and then monday rececved 6 calls.. and tuesday 12 calls on 2 lines ..
Has anyone else had these problems with this company?
I am thinking about bringing suit against them for violation of the fair credit collection act under the harrasment statute.
lil more on the story..
my wife is on disabilty and is home all day while I work long hours to try and help cover some extra medical bills, she is not able to get to the phone in a timely manner at times and her cell is usually accross the room, so she can not all ways reach the phone befor eit goes to answer machine.
Im about at wits end with these people and really would like to know if anyone else is having issues with HD finance....
Ya know sometimes we all get set back a lil, but to harass to this when im not even late is nuts..............
Thanks

Sounds to me like you better contact a debt counselor and let him or her step in and try tomake peace with you and Harley Finance... Otherwise the finance department will be sending a few big guys to your house to re-po the bike..
The hardworking people don't stand much of a chance when it comes to finance companies. They don't see an unexpected hardship as a needto back-off when it comes to a due date on a payment..
Sorry to hear of your trouble with the finance people... been there in the past and lost the battle... Yes they repossed my little Ford Pinto.. Learned my lesson...MADE DARN SUREall my future credit ventures were ALWAYS paid on time and often ahead of time... Only calls I get now are from Credit Card companies wanting me to accept their card or offer an increase to existing loans and cards.
So find you a good debt counselor and turn them on to Harley Finance... They can help save your bike and turn off the phone calls.. Good luck
Acollector may contact you in person, by mail, telephone, telegram, or fax. They may continue contact under certain conditions. One of those is an equivocated agreement to pay; i.e., you say you'll pay but don't set a time/date or manner for payment.
Adebt collector may not contact you at inconvenient times or places, such as before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m., unless you agree. Be sure to check you contract/note to make sure you didn't agree to a different time. I don't know about HD, but some lenders have begun adding a "time" clause that designates an extended time for calling on a debt in arrears. There are some other tricks the lending industry uses to skirt the law.
A debt collector also may not contact you at work if the collector knows that your employer disapproves of such contacts.
Report any problems you have with a debt collector to your state Attorney General' s office and the Federal Trade Commission. Many states have their own debt collection laws, and your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights. In extreme cases you may also seek civil damages for violation of both the federal and state acts.
