Yesterday HD had an official launch of 2008 line up. I came along and had another good look at various Dyna's and Softies.
While I didn't like the Fat Bob, I am seriously considering the Superglide Custom. It just looks and feels "right" to me.
I will also give FAT Boy another chance when I take both bikes for a test ride next week.
While at the dealership, I saw a Superglide Screaming Eagle (CVO). It has absolutely "blown me away" with all the extra work that went into building it. I wish I had an extra 20k to spend (on top fo the Fat Boy or Superglide).
To all you Superglide owners, does it really vibrate that bad? I like the v-twin vibration, but one must be able to use mirrors properly.
I had a Sporty before i bought the Street Bob and the mirrors on it were pretty much useless. The Street Bob is smooth as butter and the mirrors are vibration free. I only get a little vibration when slowly coming to a stop and doing about 10 mph down to 0 but no big deal. I heard a few people complain of bad or loose motor mounts, maybe the previous poster had similar problems.

The Dyna's vibrate some at idle, but it's not like a vibration that will knock your fillings out! (Besides, most of the women I know seem to like the vibration!) Once you get moving, they smooth out almost immediately. My buddy has an older Superglide (96 maybe), and even with the Evo motor it's still not a hugely noticable vibration when idling.
