Default troubleshooting
my bike lurches when rpm is towards the top in all four gears. Any common issues that i can look into that cause this? sometimes it does it at lower R's, too.

Need more details: bikes age, carb or injected, any mods,when did problem start, what do the plugs look like?etc.

Without knowing anything else, I'd suggest you check your plugs and check the cables at your battery, ground and starter.

There is a section for Panheads in the Harley Davidson Motorcycles/Classic section of the forum. You might get more attention there.

Sorry...1965 Panhead. Lots of stuff has been changed..I inhereited it so I dont know all the details. Super E carb , 800 miles on fresh rebuild(before I got it) belt primary, chain drive. I already screwd up the crank seal, so I'm looking to fix little things I've noticed at the same time. I have a manual on the way(clymer) it was the only one I could find, and a couple of folks say that they are kinda vague...It's

I'd say loose cables because at the higher RPM's you are getting more vibration causing firing problems. However, if that isn't the case, then it could possibly be gas starved at higher RPM's. So, it might be worth a shot looking at the carburator. You might possibly have a restriction in the float needle or one of the jets.

Like said, not much info............... I would check my plugs first, sounds maybe a little lean.
