I have the Softail maintenance dvd and I got a lot out of it.
However, I'm the type of person that learns better visually rather than reading about something. Therefore, it made a good companion to the manual for me. Not to mention I had no prior experience servicing a Harley.
If you're already an experienced wrench it probably won't do you much good.
I have experience working on cars, not bikes. They're only $40, so maybe I will pick one up to compliment the service manual.

Has anyone purchased any of their maintenance DVDs? Are they helpful? Would they make a nice companion to the HD service manual?
Thanks
I have the DVD and love it. It does not replace the Service Manual but makes a very worthwhile addition to it. I use it frequently prior to doing routine service work, as a refresher. You can't beat watching someone walk through a service task from start to finish before doing it yourself. It really helps to clarify the service manual which often leaves you flipping back and forth between pages, trying to figure out the complete process.

I have touring DVD and really like it. I knew squat about working on bikes when I got mine and the DVD has helped explain a lot. Of course once you get the hang of stuff, youwon't need it as much. But for people like me, it's money well spent.
