Help from San Andreas
Anyways, I had left Jackson headed South on 49 towards Angels Camp when I jump on the throttle and "SNAP" the cable breaks. So my beautiful day of riding looks like it's gonna be a long night getting the bike home, when out of nowhere a lady pulls over and asks if we need any help?
She makes a couple calls and finds some Harley Mechanic that is home and lives about a half mile away. I idle the bike up the hill, to his house/garage and tell him my dilema. He looks at the bike, goes into his shop and comes out with a couple different throttle cables. I am talking to the wife, who is letting me have it cause I am gonna miss a dinner date with her and my daughters, trying to convince her to go and pick up my buddies trailer and come rescue me (About 75 miles from home), when the mechanic tells me don't worry, I'll get you back on the road.
A half hour later, the bike is running. I ask the guy, How much? and he tells me $20 bucks for the used cable, I am floored, I can't believe it, I am thinking this guy would at least want a hundred spot for his trouble. Anyways, I had $40 cash in the wallet and said that the least I could do was pay him for his time. In less than an hour from breaking down, out in the hills, I am back on the road. I can't believe it, this must be my day.
I made it home in time to make dinner and here's my problem...
I forgot the mechanics name...
If any of you guys/gals out there can help me out. The lady that stopped and helped get me to this guy was "Shannon"(she was driving a white Honda or Toyota 2 door sedan), she really helped me out big time, I owe the day to her, without her being so kind to stop and see if I needed help, I would have never met the mechanic.
The mechanic lived south of the Valero Dealer about a half a block on the left as you head into San Andreas. His address is 262 but I am not sure what street. I would like to send these two a thank you for helping me out. If anyone out there can help me find either one of these two, any help would be greatly appreciated.
I was amazed at how these two stopped what they were doing to get me back on the rode. Christmas came early for me on Friday.
