Somethin' smells like **** with this story, obviously there is more to it, there is no way a frame had three bends in it from the factory and the dealer just happened to notice it after and accident, possibly this was the bike that fell off the lift during dealer prep and the just realized that they, the dealer, didn't realize that the frame was bent. Somebody's trying to sell some BS here.... just not sure who.
Ditto. Don't think we have the whole story here.

I agree with FKNDLX, this whole situation stinks and seems like a clusterf#%. People post this crap and pretend to want a straight answer when they provide a crooked story. If it looks like **** and smells like **** , it usually is ****.

Each state is different on the title issue. In our state there is no damage disclaimer on the title and you will only get a rebuilt title if the insurance company totals the bike and forfietssaid title to the state. Good luck and I hope you know more about what's actually going on than you are giving us or you are going to get hosed.

Sounds to me like the bent frame is your own fault and I really have no idea why the dealer is helping you at all. Coming from someone who actually had to go through a lemon law situation which was a drawn out pain in the a** time, I think you should take your bike the way it is since you made it that way.

I agree with you, if he wasn't honest and up front with us, will he be with the shop, the insurance co. or the MOCO?? I smell something bad here.

I went thru the same deal, had my frame replaced after I was hit by a cage, new frame same, VIN, and no change in the title, according to Geico, my bike has never been wrecked,
ORIGINAL: Domestic Violence

wrong- if the frame is replaced with a genuine HD frame, the dealer will have to cut the neck from the damaged frame (where the VIN is stamped) and send it to HD. HD will then stamp a replacement frame with the original VIN number.

a friend of mine had it done and the bike is better than new.

and the title was not 'changed' to reflect it being 'rebuilt'

Scttgr8- Holy cow. In post #23, I apologized immediatly, and stated that I (personally) only had a neighbor's episode to go by (with his V-Star). He had a mess. In THAT example, there was no mis-information except that this is not how the MOCO works (a good thing).

I am VERY appreciatitive of the feedback from tda69 for how Harley deals with frame changes. I am glad to hear all the detail; but hope to personally never need it. tda69 corrected me and informed me without pouncing.

I apologize to you for getting your fur-up, but I don't think I should be slammed for an attempt to lend advise. My assumptions were wrong, but not my intent or desire tohelp.

Unfortunatly, this postdoesn't seem to deserve much help from anybody. Regardless of intent, it appears that deceptionis at play.
