For those of you without fairings that have the handlebar mounted speaker systems. What do you got? Are you happy with it? Anybody wanna write a review on thier setup? What's a good system? Any pictures to post of your setup?
I have an 07 Road King Classic and like to ride without the windshield as much as possible so hiding big speakers behind the windshield is not always going to be thecase and a weak system may just **** me off.I'm partial to the look of the 2" chrome bullet speakers but I would considerthe bigger speakers if they rock! I've seen several models but not sure what sounds good.I would also like to add,>>> my my those J&M and Cycle Sounds are high!!! But would still like to hear about them.
K Folks, what do you fill your ears with besides the wind?????
I am not a music afficianado, so I don't have music on my rides. Plus I like the sound of the pan and shovel. The ONLY system I have experience with, I installed on a 75 FLH, is Rumble Road. To me they look really fugly, but he loves them and he runs drag pipes and can hear them fine over that noise, so they must work. Was an "easy" install as far as I am concerned. Plus they have their own amp in the spkr which made it even easier yet. Just my 2 wheat pennies worth. Good luck.
I have this system: http://www.uniqcycle.com/product_p/ucs-lp.htm
I got it as a Christmas gift (and if I don't install it the wife will kill me or hide my keys again...yes, I'm whooped)I haven't had a chance to install it as of yet but, I will say that the installation instructions are somewhat difficult to understand if you have no experience with electrical systems. You'll find that on all of the aftermarket sound systems with handlebar mounted speakers; bad instructions and poor diagrams.
I had the uniqcycle on one of my bikes and you won't beleive the sound, it was awesome, I rode my bike twice as much with the new sounds. It really is easy to install if you follow instructions step by step.
Excellent info so far and thank you. Ease or difficulty of installation shouldn't be an issue, for me anyways. I'm hearing good things about the larger speaker systems(and keep them coming). Curious how good the 2" mini speakers sound. I don't expect to get much if any bass from any setup but hi-low range and clarity as well as volume is desired. I like the looks of the 2" but would like to see how the 4"s look on my bike.
If you must hear music The J&M system is the best Clean installation too boot! My 93 FLHS has this system along with an mp3 player I used to sell their systems so I had to have a demo Got to admit on those long boring trips across SD it helped pass the time
Too bad these aren't out yet, they look really nice and rather than being a petite 2" that probably doesn't put out much sound or the big monster 4",,, they are a 3" speaker with a nice billet looking housing and grill with a 50watt amp built in!!!! From Kuryakyn they should be a decent product. One website says available winter of 2008 and the Kuryakyn site says spring of 08.
I think I like the looks of these, wonder how they sound?
my current stereo is 10watts... the one i am makeing now is 100watts and i am using marine speakers... it is taking a bit to make the amp stay cool while in the fork bag... the fact that it gets warn is really not a big deal but i do not want it to ruin a speaker. let me get that worked out and i will be ready to sell them herre is a a youtube link to check it out. here is the link for the one i have now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGkBlyyQGs8
