Greetings,
Need to buy my first pair of chaps? Any ideas, recommendations, suggestions or comments?! I live in the Los Angeles area. Is online shopping for chaps an option? Fire away and let me know. Thanks in advance!
do not know about LA but we have a couple of flea markets around that have leather shops, bought ours there and paid under $80, have had then going on three years.

I did 2 different orders from Jammin and it took 4 days to get to my Door
call either of them and give your size in inch's if you feel you'll get the wrong size
I did this on a jacket and it fits like a glove

RE: Chaps
This thread has been around a couple of times. First, I would be leary about mail ordering. You order, 2 or 3 weeks later they arrive and don't fit, you send them back, 2 or 3 weeks later another pair show up. Wife and I bought ours at a bike event. Could try them on, got them altered and are very happy with them. Spent less than a hundred bucks. Good Luck.
I know these are very expensive, but I bought the Men's Deluxe Leather Chaps from HD. I figured I would only buy one pair, so why not get the best. I really don't know about all of the other chaps out there, but I know these are great. They fit great, and are very warm and comfortable.
I had mine custom made while in Sturgis for the 49th anniversary (1989) and I still have them today. When I sent them to my leather shop to have some adjustments, the guy commented on how thick the leather was and not as thin as the ones you see sold today.
Beware buying chaps that are of a thin leather. They offer no protection like thick chaps.
Check with a Western type shop (Arizona Saddlery) that could direct you to someone to make you a set of chaps. Remember, you need protection against the elements, (cold & rain,) and hopefully it never happens, but protection against road rash.
I feel like a lot of the chaps sold today are for looks and offer little or no protection.

Try a motorcyle show or flea market. I have a Harley pair I received as a gift but you can get same quality for a 3rd of the price at a bike show. Good luck.
