EFI Intermittent priming problem

Curious on my situation that after riding anywhere from 25-75 miles (or more), I'll stop for about 10 minutes and my Harley (07 Street Glide) will crank over but not fire. (If I wait about 30 minutes, it fires right up). This doesn't happen every time...may happen once or twice a day. Irritating that if I'm with a group... I hold everyone up from the ride. During the first second of the prime, the fuel pump makes an odd noise. Had a new K&amp\\;N air filter put on and remapped, but still happens. Had the 20,000 mile service done, and fuel pressurization system check, and checked out fine. Put new plugs in... Problem never happens when I get to the shop...always on the way home or with a group. Service department says they can't replace the fuel pump unless it fails...at a loss of what the problem might be. The only thing left for me to do is to change the plug wires to a high heat set. Any other ideas???
