Default Factory Tool Kit?

Every metric I ever bought came with a tool kit of sorts. Not the best stuff but basic breakdown variety.

Bought a RK Classic new in 2005. No tool kit.

Bought a SG new 2 weeks ago and found a tool kit in the saddlebag.

So...... something new? Model specific?

Just curious.

Good question Primo. My SG came with the kit also but I think it has more to do with it being an '06 bagger than it does the model.

Not a bad kit either.

My 99 EG Classic came with a tool kit but not the RK. Luckily I kept the tool kit when I sold the EG.

Well that's interesting....

I'm going on a long haul trip out to Kentucky this April (from Maryland) and I want to get a tool kit for the trip. I'll be buying a leather tool pouch and am now wondering, should I get the HD tool kit that is now apparently shipping with the '06 SG or should I stick with a kit like the one offered by Wind Zone?

Thanks,
Brian

There's a pattern beginning to emerge here......if you own a RK, you won't need a tool kit. If you own a fancy dresser, better be prepared.....!

:-)

Hey Brian,

The MoCo kit is pretty run of the mill. Starting from scratch, I would probably go with the Wind Zone set or something similar.

I got it! I think the (St)Dealers take the tool kit out of the bikes, price 'em and put them on the accessories display!
