OK, well, if they seize/ban the wearing of the clubs colors, then what about their tattoos?
What if a copyright attorney helps them change the design 40%? Sounds like a fight the ACLU lawyers would gladly jump in pro-bono to me. I bet they wont need no stinkin public defenders.
My personal opinion is that these guys gave up their true M/C status when they started recruiting La Eme (sp?) and other non riding Mex gangs to help take care of business.
Regardless of what you think of these dumb *** whos next? Some Consitutional issues at stake here for sure.
The thing about them recruiting local bangers is that the cops and the general population don't know the difference. All they see is some dude ridin a scoot with such and such MC rags on his back. Then they see some other dudes hangin at a bar with the same rags and they are all in a "motorcycle gang". What kills me is that if you and some of your friends (or bros if that's what you want to call them to make yourself feel like a real biker) are out on a Sunday afternoon ride in the country, everyone who sees you out there thinks your a "motorcycle gang". So all in all it's just the publics vision of anyone or group on a bike that the cops have made up over time to keep the Beaver Cleavers of the world on their side. No I'm not a member of an MC, but I have friends that are and I feel 100 times safer when I'm around them then I do when I'm at some bike night somewhere.
Had a bike "removed" from my garage years ago and was told by the PD it was these guys....it was in Los Angeles ....shortly after my bike rolled itself out the door the Queen sting went down....always wondered if it was fact...or fiction...
If someone is a criminal, they deserve to be punished. If not then they have nothing to worry about. But seizing an organizations name/logo seems like grandstanding to me.
My view to this larest fiasco is that the feds sure spend lots of tax dollars making us "safer" by prosecuting and locking up a couple bad guys. Personally,I wish the feds would lock up more of these idiot gang bangers that make our neighborhoods filthy and dangerous. You'll have criminals in every private organization, and lots of 1% clubs have that reputation. If these clubbers were recruiting bangers, lock them up! it only proves their intention and the club would be better off without them. True patch holders are proud guys that want to only be involved with their chosen club and they are not all criminals by any means, the reason civilians don't see the whole picture is because the club don't want you to see it. It is a private organization after all. There are many other not so scary organizations the feds have investigated also that we never hear about because it really doesn't make for a good media story.

They take a torch to them. I know, cuz I watch SOA!!!
This is worrysome, who will rule? HOG's, SOA, Wild Hogs, Del Fuegos, maybe LOH(Ladies of Harley)!! If there is an application my Red Hat Biker Babes are going to submit one!! Maybe all the nominees could have a slow race to see who gets the territory!!

The LEOs will never eliminate M/Cs. This bust will only slow things down for awhile. The Feds know this. They (Feds) just want to keep the clubs from growing too big and changing the balance of power. If left unchecked, clubs that are active in criminal activity will rule and somewhere down the line you and I will be affected adversely. But WTF do I know...
I believe, but just my .02, that once a group of whatevers start to deal in criminal activity, the people involved need to be arrested and that group be dissolved. Don't give me this constitional BS that I hear every single day with rights and all that, because I'm tired of seeing and hearing people misinterpret consitutional law.
If you or your group is affiliated with criminal activity, and you get caught, I'm sorry, but you should cease to exist. Once we allow M/C's or whatever group to continue with slaps on the wrist, all it does is make it worse for law-abiding citizens, whether it comes to safety, taxes, and overall social well-being.
The problem with this country lately has been that too many smarta$$' who misinterpret laws in order to benefit their agendas.
